The Department has instituted Distinguished Biotechnology Research Professorship Award Scheme to utilize the expertise of superannuated distinguished scientists, who are still scientifically active and capable of making significant research contribution in biological sciences, biotechnology and related fields. The scheme enables distinguished scientists to continue to contribute to the subject of his/her choice in his/her own institution or in any other suitable institution within India and continues to make outstanding contributions to Science.
